A lot of General Training candidates breeze through Sections 1 and 2, then run out of time on Section 3 — and that's where the band is decided. Sections 1 and 2 use short, practical texts like job ads, timetables and workplace notices. Section 3 switches to a longer, demanding piece closer to Academic-level reading. All 40 questions need to be answered in 60 minutes, so the time you save early on should be saved for the end, not spent double-checking easy answers.
